Honour Guard

The Windsor Auxiliary Police Honour Guard is a specialty ceremonial unit that is made up from members of all ranks. The Honour Guard is used for special occasions or ceremonies that are assigned at the discretion of the Chief of Police, Auxiliary Liaison Officer, and/or the Auxiliary Superintendent.  Events include, but are not limited to parades, presentation of colours, educational events, funerals for fallen officers, funerals for retired police personnel or for outside agency personnel, and various ceremonies such as the swearing-in of new Auxiliary recruits.
You will find our Windsor Police Auxiliary Honour Guard unit marching in parades on Canada Day and at the Windsor Remembrance Day Service at the Cenotaph on November 11 every year. The unit also attends various Windsor Police Memorial Services and ceremonies. The Windsor Police Auxiliary Honour Guard Unit has proudly marched alongside the regular Windsor Police Service's Honour Guard members at the Ontario Police Memorial at Queen's Park in Toronto, Ontario (the first Sunday in May) and the Canadian Police And Peace Officer's Memorial on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, Ontario (the last Sunday of September).
The Honour Guard's purpose is to represent the Windsor Police Service and the Windsor Police Auxiliary Unit with the highest honour, respect and integrity.
