Windsor Police officer charged with breach of trust

A member of the Windsor Police Service has been charged with breach of trust following an investigation by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

In August 2023, the Windsor Police Service requested the assistance of the OPP in investigating an allegation of misconduct. The investigation was led by the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.

On April 7, 2026, Constable Kenneth Campo was arrested and charged with breach of trust, contrary to section 122 of the Criminal Code.

Cst. Campo, a member of the Windsor Police Service since 2007, has been removed from active duty pending further review. Formal proceedings have been started to suspend him without pay.

“I understand this incident will affect public trust, and I take that seriously. Trust is built through our actions every day, and we’re committed to earning it by being open, being accountable, and taking the right actions,” said Windsor Police Chief Jason Crowley. “Our priority right now is to fully support the investigation and continue serving the community with professionalism and integrity.”

As the matter is before the courts, no further information will be released.
