Professional Advancement

Professional Advancement is an important area of the Windsor Police Service providing on-going training to all employees of the Service, Recruitment Strategies, Community Services, High School Resource, Peer Counseling, Diversity and Outreach programs.

The Windsor Police Community Services Branch has had the pleasure of entering into new youth incentive partnerships as well as redeveloping older programs such as the Values, Influences, and Peers (VIP) program. As part of a reorganization and restructure project, High School Resource Officers were assigned to the Community Services Branch which resulted in a positive partnership where the Community Services Branch can reach out to students at the grade school and high school levels.

Community Services and High School Resource officers are dedicated to community crime prevention awareness, building partnerships and relationships within our Community. They serve as ambassadors of the police service and are responsible for 12 major programs including Camp Brombal, ESINC, Diversity day, Earn-A-Bike and Police Week. They are also responsible for the planning and participating in more than 45 community events annually.
