Lost or Found Property

Lost Property

The Windsor Police Service accepts reports of property lost in Windsor and Amherstburg, in hopes of returning items to their rightful owners. 

  • If you have lost an accessible parking permit or provincially-issued ID, you must also report the loss to ServiceOntario.
  • If you have lost a passport, SIN card, or other federally-issued ID, you must also report the loss to Service Canada.
  • If you have lost a bank card, you must also report the loss to your financial institution.


Found Property

The Windsor Police Service accepts reports of property found in Windsor and Amherstburg (limited to government-issued identification or government property).

After the report is filed, arrangements are made for an officer to retrieve the item(s). Police will not pick up everyday lost items, electronics, clothing, bags or tools.

Please call the Windsor Police non-emergency line (519-258-6111) to report found weapons, dangerous items, items related to a crime, and large amounts of cash.
